Since 1911, the Gateway Chamber of Commerce has been a steadfast advocate for businesses in Union County and beyond. Our legacy began as the Elizabeth Board of Trade, founded with the support of John D. Rockefeller and his Bayway Refinery, a key force in shaping the City of Elizabeth. Over time, we evolved—first into the Elizabeth Chamber of Commerce, then the Eastern Union County Chamber as our reach expanded beyond Elizabeth. As our influence grew further, we became the Union County Chamber of Commerce. In 2005, following a merger with the Central Jersey Chamber, we rebranded as the Gateway Regional Chamber of Commerce, solidifying our presence across Union, Middlesex, Somerset, and Essex counties.

Today, known simply as the Gateway Chamber, we are a driving force for growth and collaboration across diverse industries, uniting Fortune 500 corporations, thriving mid-sized enterprises, and dynamic small businesses. This rich diversity fosters unparalleled networking, knowledge-sharing, and strategic partnerships that fuel economic success.
